The story behind Studio Bobbin
StudioBobbin
The Bobbin sewing machine, standing in the corner of my grandparents' kitchen, is one of my earliest childhood memories. Sturdy, heavy, intricately decorated.
My grandmother, a talented seamstress, sewed hundreds of meters of fabric on it, creating clothes for family and neighbours. Most of the time it was done as a favour or in exchange, rarely for money.
My mother inherited the same gift. She sew as a hobby, mostly for herself and loved ones, but the house was always full of fabric rolls and the sewing machine had a permanent place. Whenever she sat down to work, I would perch beside her on a stool, fascinated by the rhythmic movement of the needle and how something beautiful could be born from a simple piece of cloth.
Back then, I promised myself that one day, I too would learn to sew.
And although my professional life took me in a completely different direction - offices, corporations, years abroad - the desire to create never left me.
After more than 20 years, I returned to Poland and together with my husband we settled in the countryside, surrounded by forests and mountains. Here, I found peace and the space to return to what I truly love - and it was here that the idea of my own studio began to grow.
The name came naturally - Studio Bobbin, in honour of my grandmother's old sewing machine, a piece of the past that still holds its place in my workshop.
